Macro capabilities?

Please explain the macro setting to me; is it only effective at 80mm? How close will it focus and will it give 1:1 ratio?

Thanks,

FLASH

Are you sure this is Pentax material and not a counterfeit? I don't want to ruin your sale, but the only K-mount Takumars disappeared in the early days of the K-series cameras. (or so I've read)

Bojidar Dimitrov points to a similar lens, the Pentax F 28-80, which looks almost identical, except for the writing on the sides and the aperture ring unlock button > F 28-80/3.5-4.5

Best of luck to you!

From the kmp site: Takumar-F 28-80/3.5-4.5

The difference is the A & F Taks do not have SMC. These were the budget line and sold for less than the SMC lenses.

Ah, alright then. Sorry for the mix-up. I need to re-read Bojidar's site all over again. :ugh:

Bump from me.

I have one of these and it is a great lens. It is built like a tank and has good macro capability.
