Tamron SP 55B 500mm f8 catadioptric (mirror) lens.
Mirror lenses, in general, do not enjoy a great reputation. Happily, the
exceptions are the Tamron SP mirror lenses which are
outstanding. Nowhere can you get such reach (500mm or an equiv. FOV of a 750mm lens on an APS-C DSLR like the Pentax) in such a lightweight compact form. This lens has seen very little use. It comes with the original screw-on metal Tamron hood, the original front lens cap, the original set of 30.5mm rear filters, and even the original detachable tripod socket (something that the later 55BB version sadly dropped. That's one reason the 55B is usually
more sought-after.) This kit also
includes the Pentax KM adaptall mount making it usable immediately on any Pentax k-mount film or digital camera. You don't want/need the expensive PK/A mount for THIS lens.

and this is on a Pentax K200D). Imagine what it would do on one of the newer Sony sensor Pentax DSLRs.
Pentax Q owners: With a PK to Q adapter, this lens will give you an incredibly lightweight compact 2750mm equiv. field of view! (I have one for sale in a separate ad, which is coming).

Flickriver: Photoset 'Tamron SP 500mm f/8 55B Adaptall Mirror Lens' by KBauschardt The thing those images don't make obvious is from how far away they were taken and the way this lens can pull distant objects this close with this much clarity, color and contrast (the very things you normally see lacking in a lesser mirror lens).
Everything is in very good condition (lens, hood, filters, mount & detachable tripod socket). The four filters are still in their original cellophane, in the snap case. You may never use them, but it is nice to have a mint complete set (particularly if you decide to ever sell it in the future). You won't find many that are this nice and complete. The only apology is one area (approx. 1/4" in diameter) of wear on the exterior of the hood. Optically it is gorgous.
