Are you sure this is the OS version?

I do not believe they made this lens in OS version.

Actually, they did originally. Then removed the OS for Pentax and Sony mounts. See this press release:

Sigma to launch non-stabilized 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC HSM for Sony and Pentax: Digital Photography Review

"17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM for Sony and for Pentax will be discontinued with the launch of this lens."

Whether the seller's lens is the OS version, however, is another matter...

I am sorry, yes this is not OS, I was confused because the paper in the box says SIGMA 17-50 F2.8 DC OS HSM, but it is probably a paper they also use for the other versions (canon or nikon).
The lens says: 17-50 F2.8 EX DC HSM.

Not a bad thing being the non OS as this means this is the latest version in the pentax mount. ( it's newer but believe that it's the same optically.) Either way a great lens, I love mine. Good luck with the sale.

I imagine that without the OS, this version is actually a bit lighter than the OS model. Although that weight difference may be very slight.

Yes, good luck with the sale! I admit that this zoom lens has been very tempting to me over the years but I just got a DA 16-45 that I'm very happy with.

Essentially this is the lighter better battery version. OS means nothing from 17-50.

---------- Post added 05-30-14 at 07:37 AM ----------

Just wanted to clarify the state of this lens: it is in VERY GOOD condition, but I have noticed a few specs of dust, which is normal for a used lens.
