Fa*24 f2 ($520)

Selling my short range lenses to fund a DA 20-40 F2.8-4 Limited lens to become weather proof.

FA*24 F2 with original hood & front cap + rear cap ($520 shipped USPS)
As much as I'd hate to sell this lens, I want to get a weather sealed combo for my walking around because of the inclement weather in NYC. I originally bought this lens as the cheaper brother to the FA*31, but it has endeared itself to me. I bought it for around $500, so I am not making profit on this sale. The $15 is for my shipping and insurance cost.

This lens is solidly built, and surprisingly small. It is optically clear without markings, and free of dust. The rear mount shows wear, but is clean and undamaged. There is some paint wear on the focus ring and the hood (which can be seen in the images of the lens), but nothing major. The lens autofocuses very quickly and is smooth in manual focus. It has a focus clutch that must be pushed back/forward to activate manual focus. The lens has always been a great performer for me, and it remains practically in the same condition as when I received it back in February.

The lens is quite sharp in the center, but weak in the edges. It has some distortion which is easily corrected in post. I will post images that show the correction, as well as the uncorrected files. The lens has very soft smooth bokeh at F2-2.8, and it is surprisingly good for portraiture when the distortion is removed. It is also relatively resistant to flare - I think it is more flare resistant than my DA*55 F1.4. While the corners may be softer, quite a bit of that is also due to the distortion. Some of the images I link will show quite good corners at F5.6-8. I am very sad to have to part with this lens, but I need to have a WR lens because I don't carry an umbrella with me when walking around.

The lens will come with the OEM hood and front cap. The rear cap is a Sigma lens cap, but makes no difference in my opinion. I will ship the lens via USPS priority with tracking and insurance, per the section below.

Sigma 24-60 f2.8 EX DG ($205) SOLD

This lens was purchased from Adorama on September 11th, 2014. It was listed in E- condition (Barrel shows signs of wear and/or moderate usage. Lens glass may have some dust / spots that should not affect picture quality), and has not changed much since I bought it. There are some scrape markings on the hood at most. I bought the lens for $179 + tax, so the only markup is for the shipping cost via USPS.

This lens is quite good for the value. I tested it against the Sigma 24-70 F2.8 EX HSM in store, and it was as sharp wide open throughout the range. I've used a DA*16-50, a Tokina 28-70, and a DA 16-45 before, and this lens is no slouch in comparison. It is weak against direct sun flare (and I assume the hood is for a full frame camera), but I haven't lost too many shots to flare in my use of the lens. The lens is solidly built, and I believe it is full metal. It has the matte/crinkle finish, which some people may not like.

The lens has some zoom creep (it comes with a zoom lock), as well as some resistance when zooming from 60mm to 24mm. I was told that this was common to older Sigma zoom lenses. The lens comes with OEM hood, front cap, and rear cap.

Shipping information:
I will be shipping in the continental US by USPS flat rate box. I think it comes out to something like $10.95 for the lens. Insurance comes out to another $10 bucks for the FA*24. If a buyer takes multiple lenses, I'll combine the lenses into one box so you'd save $10/lens off the combined price. If you live in NYC and want to pick it up from me, feel free to save the shipping fee. USPS flat rate first class is provided with tracking, and I will pack the box nice and tight with bubble wrap or similar. I usually ship out within 48 hours of receiving payment.

For Canada or Mexico, I will need to go to USPS and find out what the actual shipping rate is to you guys. If you are truly interested, let me know your location and I'll check. The last time I shipped to Canada, tracking cost me quite a bit, so I can't just apply the shipped prices of the lenses to you guys if you want tracking.

Payment info:
I only take paypal.

Tokina 28-70 F2.6-2.8 Angenieux - $200 $190 180 shipped (USPS) - SOLD
Edit - I will include a 77mm 3-stage rubber hood and 77mm center pinch cap with this lens. The 3 stage hood is deeper than the OEM hood, which should provide much better contrast at the 50-70mm range. The center pinch cap is way easier to use than the OEM cap. - I tested the lens with the 3-stage hood. It didn't do much. I'll still include it, but that's up to the buyer if they actually want it. The pinch cap is very useful though.

I recently bought this lens because I wanted a normal zoom for my walkaround use, but it has not performed to my expectations. It is sharp at F2.8 from 28-50mm, but from 50-70mm it drops in sharpness. At F4 it's pretty good all around, and at F5.6-8 it is as sharp as anything else. It also requires approximately +8 focus correction on my k-3 to get it to focus well at 70mm. Since I recently found a very good copy of a Sigma 24-60, I want to sell this to cover that cost. I originally bought this lens for $250 so I'll take a loss for it.

The lens is very well built and has quite a few nice features that I wish other lenses had. It is internal zoom, and internal focus - which is surprising for a normal zoom. It is all metal with a nice feeling finish, and the zoom and focus rings are very smooth. It also has an aperture ring, which is a nice bonus. The lens has a AF/MF clutch that shifts the focus ring back and forth, so that's not as nice. The focus speed is very quick, it locks on faster than any other lens I have at this time.

The lens will come with the original hood, front cap, and a rear lens cap. The hood is a little fiddly, you have to get it on tight. I would actually recommend getting a extendable rubber hood for this lens when using it on APS-C, as it has a tendency to flare very harshly (as can be seen in one of the sample photos). It's a reasonably useful lens, but just not what I wanted. The body is pretty much mark free and looks new. The glass is clear and free of marks. There is some dust inside. The hood has a few marks on it.

Thank you. I would have kept it, but I have a DA*16-50 coming in so it became very redundant.

And update - DA 18-135WR is sold.

Bump. Also, I have a spare k-30 LI-ON battery and charger that I can toss in for free to any user who purchases an item. I'm using AA batteries solely for my k-30.

that is one good-looking bumblebee set-up. I'm glad I demand a physical viewfinder or I'd have bought this one already.

Tempting to get the K-01 but I don't know if it's worth it since it will get stuck on a shelf here just to look at.

Well, unfortunately that's what it is doing here and I want someone to take it and use it. So, small price drop.
Also price drop on 02 lens. And adding a Tokina 28-70 F2.6-2.8 Angenieux lens and a broken DA 21 F3.2 ltd.

My offer to include a k-30 battery and charger with purchase if the buyer wants it still stands.
