[SOLD] Lenses! Vivitar Series 1 28-90 plus many more; Pentax ZX-30 film camera; ME

Was part of earlier thread. Starting new thread to reduce the clutter of all the sold stuff.

All lenses are mechanically and optically excellent. Glass is clear, aperture blades operate smoothly, zoom/focus/aperture rings all operate nicely.

Unless otherwise noted, all lenses come with front and rear caps and are in excellent "E" cosmetic condition.

Manual focus:

Sold Vivitar Series 1 28-90/2.8-3.5: This is a beautiful one-touch lens, made by Komine. Excellent optical and build quality. Beautiful colors and creamy bokeh. Includes Hoya 67mm Skylight(1B) filter. Excellent condition. Note that this is the P/K-A R-P/K mount (meaning the extra Ricoh pin), but I was able to mount/dismount on my K10D with no problems. "A" type (auto exposure) - was $140 now $130

SMC Pentax-M 75-150/4 - One touch design, excellent condition. Built in sliding lens hood is a nice touch. Excellent condition inside and out. Includes Hoya HMC 49mm Skylight (1B) filter.
Adorama's got a used one available for $139 ("E" condition). I'm very comfortable calling this one "E+" - was $85 now $80

SOLD
SMC Pentax-M 50/1.7 - "E" condition, Pentax front/rear caps. Includes official Asahi Pentax 49mm Skylight filter. - $55

Sold SMC Pentax-M 50/1.7 - "V" condition, glass is fine, body shows wear (brassing, some paint loss in f/stop numbering. This has been my lens for over a year and I've loved it, but decided to upgrade to an A50/1.7. Since this one's the only lens in this whole set that's not at least "E" condition, I'll throw in a leather case from a Pentax 30/2.8. This lens fits snugly in that case. - was $50 now $45

Tokina AT-X 50-250/4-5.6 Macro - "M" type lens, "E" condition. One touch design. Includes rear and Tokina front caps. Macro 1:1.4 at 250mm. - was $50 now $45

Tokina AT-X 28-85/3.5-4.5 Close Focus - "M" type - Solidly built, operates smoothly - was $40 now $35

Tokina 28-105/3.5/4.8 - "A" type (auto exposure). P/R mount (includes Ricoh pin), went on/off my K10D with no problems - was $35 now $30

Sold SMC Pentax-M 50/2 - Excellent condition inside and out. Includes Pentax front and rear mounts. Includes Hoya Skylight filter - was $35 now $30

Sold SMC Pentax-M 50/2 - Excellent condition inside and out. Includes Asahi Pentax front and rear mounts. Includes CPC Phase 2 UV filter - was $35 now $30

Auto Focus:

SOLD Promaster AF 28-105/4-5.6 - "E" condition, shown in photos with front and rear caps, but only includes rear cap (I was tired and confused by the time I got around to photographing that lens). I think this is a rebadged Tamron, but am not totally sure. Sells new for $140-170. Includes original box and Promaster lens hood. - was $75 now $70

Film Camera

Pentax ZX-30 - Auto focus - needs new batteries, otherwise in great shape. Includes box and manual - was $35 now $30

Is the Tokina AT-X 28-85/3.5-4.5 Close Focus a macro lens?

"Macro" is a broad term, but I wouldn't say this is a macro lens. My best guess is that it would be approximately 1:5 when close focus is enabled. I think 1:4 is the lowest magnification that usually warrants the term, "macro".

At 85mm, the minimum standard focus distance is 30 inches (76 cm). Moving the lens to "Close Focus" mode, which involves pushing a button and then further rotating the zoom ring beyond it's normal stopping point, reduced the minimum focus distance to 13 inches (30 cm).

Here's a pic I've combined an image of a US coin from a 1:2 macro (Tamron 90/2.5), the same coin using the Tokina's "Close Focus" feature and again without usiing "Close Focus". The coin, by the way, is .955 inches (24.26mm) in diameter.

dumrox, thanks for the explanation. The pictures really helped. Really nice of you to take the time.

Unfortunately Im looking for a macro so will have to pass on that one for now.

But thanks again.

A potential buyer of the Tokina AT-X 50-250 asked for some samples. I took some along with same scenes from the DA 50-200 to use as a comparison. It looks like that sale will fall through, but I've posted the comparisons as I thought the Tokina blew the Pentax away in terms of sharpness, especially away from the center of the frame.

Take a look here for comparisons. Use "Original" to see full sized pics.

Done business with dumrox and was very happy. I'm drooling over some of those Tokina lenses, but I have other plans for those focal ranges. Still, for those prices, how can I go wrong.

Hmmm...

Tokina 28-105/3.5/4.8
Promaster AF 28-105/4-5.6

Except for the two lenses above, none are compatible with the zx-30.
