[SOLD] Vivitar Series 1 105mm f/2.5 Macro

.

I have two copies of this lens, one for my K20D, and the other was meant for
the K100D for my wife to use for macro. She's since gravitated towards my DA
35ltd macro (smaller, lighter,) so I've decided to put this one up for grabs here.

It's almost unused - still in box, still in plastic, manuals/papers, etc. My wife used
my other Viv 105 mostly before this was purchased, and this one has only been
on my camera a few times. It's basically new old stock - new in box - mint.

One just sold in the marketplace for $500 plus shipping/fees/duty. I'll put this one
up for $450 shipped. (If it goes overseas, it can be declared however
the buyer desires for duty purposes, buyer's choice depending on their country's
arbitrary tax/tariff codes

With the cost of Zeiss and Voigtlander lenses where they are, this is an absolute
bargain, in my opinion, and it's an absolute joy to own and use. It's a trophy
lens, and If I didn't have two copies, you wouldn't see this here.

I'll post some shots of the lens in the box later, but rest assured it's mint.

Here are shots taken with my Viv S1 105 - mostly close focus, high-ISO. I'll
try to dig up some more actual low-ISO 1-1 macro shots to upload to flickr & post
later. But you can find stunning pro-level macro examples from this legend on
every photo hosting site on the net.

I have this lens, and it is absolutely stunning! It is by far my favourite - not just for macros but for capturing amazingly sharp candid shots.

I'm glad you have two copies - if you were selling your only copy I would be questioning your sanity!

Good luck!

All PMs replied. Lens is sold, pending payment.

For whatever reason, the last 4 lenses I've sold have all gone to Australia. Yet I have yet to see one photo
of a Kangaroo posted in this forum. Why, why is that? Is one kangaroo too much to ask!?! I'll even take a Wallabee.
Koala in a pinch.

Wow , you made a pretty tidy profit buying and selling that here

I agree on the kangaroos :P What would a zoom lens better be used for in Australia than a kangaroo :P

Far from it. The Vivitar S1 zoom I sold day before yesterday went in 15 minutes.

Judging by the earlier $500 + fees sale of another Viv 105 here, and the number
and intense nature of the PM's I received on this, I could have asked for more $,
but I really just want market value and to move it fast so I can get another lens,
probably the 60-250 or maybe the DA* 300. I'm set for macro, as you can see
by my sig

I've spent $500 for new lenses that weren't even in the same class as this lens
IQ wise. In fact, the worst thing about this lens, and I'm semi-serious here, is
that it spoils you. After I shoot with my 105 for a while, going back to one of my
other lenses is almost a bit disappointing - and that includes my DA*'s. On my
drive through Cali/Nevada/Utah/Colorado last week, I was glad to have my DA*'s,
but really kinda wished I had brought my Super Taks and my Viv S1 105.

I think the Viv 105 can be used to discover rock-embedded dinosaur fossils at
300 yards (maybe you'd need to use a tripod, though)
