This is a great lens. Its resolution at wide open is much better than the zeiss 85 1.4, but the color and feeling is not that good at zeiss.

Agree. This lens is designed for wide open or close to wide-open photos. It is very sharp (compared with Takumar 85 and Minolta 85, and even FA 85) at f1.4-1.8/2, but doesn't sharp up as steeply as others when stop down to 2.8-4.
We buy F11.4 lenses for their ability at large apertures, and A setting for auto exposure is handy.

I believe the A 85 and fa 85 should have be decent at the wide open. However, Zeiss 85 1.4 when wide open, it is just like rubbish. I cannot find the focus point. Everything is jelly like.
