with the Q/Q10, would give you 5.6x 35mm crop factor, so 1400-3360mm range! But the better IQ and ISO of the Q7 would compensate, and would still give better results...

Very nice lens. Wish I could get it. I also have both the 1.4X and 2X converters and use them with a Pentax 300mm f/2.8 which I love. And I also noticed that you said "when the full frame comes out" which is very interesting, assuming you are, as someone suggested, a beta tester for Pentax. If indeed a FF is coming, I might suggest holding on to this glass, reason being that a FF body would have the same Sony sensor as Nikon's 36 mp FF body, meaning that the results might be close in quality of the 645z, making this more of a keepsake.

I agree with the full frame being around the corner. However, the only stabilized full frame sensor in the market is Sony's newly released 24MP in the 7II. Pentax cannot go non stabilized body since there are no stabilized lenses in the Pentax DSLR lineup. Unless Sony is about to release a 36MP sensor too in which case Pentax can piggy back off the bigger sensor. Otherwise, the first Pentax full frame has to be of 24MP variety. That is why Kerrick is dropping the DSLR in favor of the 645Z. He is a beta tester and can probably see a year or two ahead. Apparently there is no big-MP DSLR Pentax (36MP+) in the near future.

Good points all, but we've been surprised before. Why wouldn't the body be stabilized with a 36mp sensor? And isn't the sensor in the Nikon 36mp body a Sony unit?

I have sold the 250-600mm lens, and it's on its way to a PentaxForum member, which pleases me greatly!

The Sony Alpha 99 is a 24MP full-frame, and it has image stabilization:

Image Stabilization: SteadyShot INSIDE in-body image stabilization. Compensation effect: Equivalent to approx. 2.5 to 4.5 steps in shutter speeds *Varies according to shooting conditions and lens used. Type: For still images: Image Sensor-Shift mechanism, For movies: Electronic

It is sold, per the post above, but I'm going to miss this thread for some reason.
