Any reason why you're selling the K20D?

Because I can get them at a discount. I don't have them yet, but will order them when someone wants them. (So, there'll be a little bit of a delay ... I have to get them first.) So, it'll be as brand new as it can be, if that's what you are concerned about.

With all due respect, Amazon sells the K20D for $1094 and there is an additional $100 rebate that came out today

K20D at 555 plus freight, duty and our VAT will end up at around 690. We can buy them here for 699 and have local warranty etc.

I also suspect that the local UK prices will drop to around 600 within a couple of months.

The K200D can be found for 399 including taxes.

The UK and Europe are not such high priced zones as they were a few years back.

Gene, if you're a dealer employee, this is against the rules of the employee purchase program.

Thanks for the info. I'm definitely not a dealer employee. I've got a one time discount coupon. That's all. Definitely not doing anything against the rules.

But again, it seems my price isn't very good. So, please disregard.

Gene

So it does seem useful to discuss price in the open sometimes.

I obey but don't fully agree with the rule banning price discussion. Sure we don't want a circus with everyone jumping on the bandwagon, but in cases asking price almost same as new price I think it should be acceptable to point out in public.

Sometimes. But very rarely. So, I agree with the rule banning price discussion.

99.9% of the time, folks posting here already have something they want to sell. Unlike 99.9% of the instances here, this time, I do not have anything. I was simply trying to buy something more inconjunction with my purchase. So, I had not incurred any costs yet. I had nothing to lose ... except some potential profit to feed my LBA. So, the situation is very very different.

Again, in 99.9% of the time, there's no good reason for commenting on the price. It's impolite and unnecessary.

I agree with the "no comments on price" rule. If buyer is looking for a camera and has $1000 to spend, he/she most likely did some comparison shopping and is aware of current market prices. So if the posted deal is not good, buyer will simply scroll to the next post.

Hi Genes Pentax, I normally wouldn't comment on price either. The main reason I replied to your post was that a new $100 rebate just came out that day and I thought maybe not everyone was aware of it. I apologize if my post offended you.
