For sale a SMC Pentax-FA* 85mm F1.4 [IF].


This is arguably the best Pentax portrait lens ever made. I'm only selling because I'm a wedding photographer who need a bag of 4 or 5 lenses with me at all time and this one is just too big for me. I'm switching to FA77 only because it is considerably smaller. I believe the FA*85 is better for bokeh though. What a lens...

While the lens shows some superficial signs of wear on that fragile silver finish, it is in excellent condition, fully functional with perfectly clean optics. I can only see one little spec of dust inside. It works as new.


I will consider a trade for a FA 77mm Limited in excellent condition + 300 USD.

Stunning lens. I wouldn't part with mine. I've also owned the FA 77 in the past. I can understand it is more practical for wedding shoots, due to the compactness and low weight.
Good though the 77 is, the bokeh with the 85 is on another level IMO. So smooth and creamy.

The problem is I need my WR lenses in the bag, I can't just take the 31 and 85 and pray for no bad weather. Hard decision to part with the 85 but I will buy it again one day, when I can afford to have all Pentax best lenses at the same time.
