This lens is designed for use with full-frame cameras, and offers a dramatically ultra-wide, minimally distorted perspective with a field of view from 122° to 84.1°. This range makes it ideal for the tightest of interiors, as well as for dramatic landscape photography. Using a camera with an APS-C sensor will give you an effective range of 18-36mm, also a very attractive wide-angle zoom range.
The lens has an aperture ring, so it can also be used on the Sony A7 series with a suitable adapter (which is not included). This has been my go-to rig for ultra-wide requirements, which is hardly ever...hence the excellent condition and reason for sale. When not in use, it's been stored in a humidity-controlled cabinet.
The lens is in excellent condition...I would describe it as near-new. The glass is super clean. It has NO fungus, NO haze, NO scratches, NO marks of any kind.
Included is the original front and rear lens caps and original protective Sigma case. Unfortunately, I do not have the original box.
Due to the bulbous nature of the front element, the use of front filters is somewhat limited due to vignetting when used within the focal range of around 12 - 15mm. For this reason, the lens has a built-in rear gelatin filter holder.
I will include 3 x neutral density Kodak Wratten 75 x 75mm Gelatin filters which you can cut to size. I haven't used them and they appear as though they are unused. I believe these are hard to come by, and are not cheap.
They are 1 x ND 0.5 (1 ⅔ stops), 1 x ND 1.0 (3 ⅓ stops), 1 x ND 2.0 (6 ⅔ stops) - perfect for those long exposures!
