Excellent collection of sample images. I never would have given up such a lens. I have the CZ 85mm f/1.4 but I rrally want a 50mm.

Is the only difference between your Macro and the new ones....is the focus limit?

How old is yours ?

All 3 100/2.8 macros (F, FA, DFA) are 9 elements in 8 groups - I know the F and FA are optically identical, and would imagine given that the formula didn't change, the DFA is identical (or close) as well. I can't really tell a difference IQ wise between my F and DFA (WR and compact size are important to me, hence keeping the DFA). If you peruse the F and FA reviews in the Lens Reviews section, you'll see a number of people who have tried all 3 and kept the F or the FA. The focus limiter is present on F and FA versions, but not DFA.

Regarding how old it is, I bought it from the prior owner on these forums a few months ago, have used sparingly since. I'm not sure exactly when it was bought new, but I believe F series lenses were manufactured in the 90's (someone correct me if I'm wrong) so likely somewhere in that timeframe.

F 100/2.8 Macro

1987-1991 is when those were made. I own one myself.

Can you manually adjust the aperture on yours ? Wondering if my extension tubes would work.
