As well as being reputed in some corners as the being sharpest lens Pentax ever made. If there's lens that's a legend, this is it.

And a bargain to boot....when you consider there's currently a manual focus version (A* 200mm F4 macro) on flea bay for a lot more. I've never seen a FA* 200mm Macro sell for less than it's older A* sibling.

I think you need to take it out today and tomorrow, Dave to get the maximum enjoyment left. I don't see you having too much longer to make memories with it.

How sharp is this lens compared to Sigma 180mm f3.5? Someone who knows?

I've not had opportunity to use the Sigma 180, but my first reaction when I looked through the 200mm was WOW! Nothing else I own comes close.

It's also my go to hummingbird lens.

I've used the Sigma but not the Pentax. The Sigma is extremely sharp as you would expect. You can't go wrong with either -- I'd go with the one you find first (and this one is right here!).

One advantage of the Pentax, besides the extra 20mm, is the focusing distance.

The Pentax achieves 1:1 at 20 inches, the Sigma is 1:1 at 18.1 inches.

That's extra margin for those tiny skittish subjects!
