Well, it works, just not exactly how it's supposed to. When the shutter release is pressed, the mirror flips up - that's it - no shutter. BUT, if you press the depth-of-field preview button, the shutter fires! Same if you lock up the mirror.

The good news - meter works, battery compartment is clean, ASA/ISO rings turns smoothly, also the exposure +/- ring.

The rest of the bad news - no pin to 'lock' the lens in place; I don't think the hotshoe works (but it's hard to be sure 'cause of the shutter issue).

Also, I have not cleaned this guy up, so it looks worse in the photos than it could.

The Pentax SMC M 50mm f2 lens works great - clean and clear glass and aperture blades.

Moe, just got the camera back - unfortunately, it does NOT have a split-image focusing screen.
