Pentax Da 40mm Limited -- PRICE DROP!!

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Pentax Da 40mm Limited -- PRICE DROP!!

Asking Price
180.00 USD SOLD]

Item Location
Sumner (United States)

Item Description
Up for sale is my Pentax DA 40mm Limited. I purchased this a few months back from one of our forum members. Nice sharp lens that makes great pictures, but I've decided to let it go to help fund an FA 77.

Body and hood are in great physical shape, no nicks or chips, anything like that. Glass is in fantastic shape. No scratches, fungus, haze, any of that stuff. Aperture assembly works as it should -- everything about it is great.

Asking $180 shipped in CONUS (will use USPS or UPS), and will ship to Canada (we can PM about cost once I get your location). No other international shipping, sorry. Payment via PayPal.

Includes:

• The lens
• Original rear cap
• Original front cap (plus a pinch cap!!)
• Original hood
• Original pouch
• Original box

Thanks for taking the time to look, and please PM me with any questions.

Bump for the weekend -- someone snatch this up. Great little lens with fast AF, and good color rendering. Kind of a forgotten FL for me, so it never really got a lot of use. Here are a few shots:

This lens is my workhorse. Love the colors, sharp images, bokeh. CAn't believe it's still for sale.

Yeah, pretty surprised that it didn't go at $200, especially with the extra front cap. All I've gotten are a couple lowball offers in PM. Guess this little guy isn't as popular as he used to be. I'll see how it does on ebay. I'd much rather offer it up to our folks, but ultimately, it'll sell wherever.

I'd definitely go for it, if I didn't already own one...

If I had sold more of my own stuff I might buy one for a spare! LOL Just a great lens. The trouble in some ways is fitting this into a kit of lenses. If they own the DA 35 2.4 or the DA 35 Macro it is a hard sell. If they own the 21 without the 35's it fits nicely. If they own the 15, the 35 seems like a more logical next step...

The thing is so nice and small and such great rendering...

With my K-01, the DA 21, DA 40, and DA 70 are a great pancake set for all day compact shooting.

I just have always found it matches up well, focuses fast and is perfect as long as you don't need macro.

Hey guys, I just picked up a K-50 with the two kit lenses that's arriving today. Needless to say, I'm quite excited. I've always wanted a prime lens because I feel like you give up the zoom capability for better performance elsewhere.

Since I'm so new to the Pentax world (coming from an Olympus SLR), can someone break down the difference between this lens and the Pentax DA 35mm F2.4?

I'm looking for a prime that's going to be (in order of preference)
1) good in low light
2) quiet
3) quick to focus

Both are quick to focus, but this lens is much quicker. Their low-light performance is very similar. Neither are very quiet.

Get this lens--its price to performance ratio can't be beat.
