I will inject that I had/used both the 50 f1.4 and the 17mm Tokina. The Rikenon had especially fine mechanics. The focus was buttery smooth without the faintest hint of looseness. The Tokina was 100% satisfactory. Took many fine pictures with it and retired it only for the convenience of a Sigma 15-30 zoom. Confession: I dropped the Tokina which dented the filter ring too much to be used afterwards.

Yes, the 50/1.4 Rikenon mechanics are super smooth. Focus, aperture functions are all like new.

May have to list this one separately as all the other lenses sold.

WPresto and a couple others have suggested elsewhere that the Rikenon 50/1.4 is not that sharp. Well, either they had a bad copy, or they are talking about another lens - the non "P" version isn't all that sharp it is true (but that lens has a different optical design).

Here is a shot taken at f4.0 which I believe is the sweet spot for the lens in terms of central sharpness. It gets better corner to corner at f5.6 and up. The shot was sharpened a bit in post. But I dare anyone to say this lens is not sharp. In fact if I took a similar shot with my best 50mm lens (the K50/4 macro) at it's best aperture (f8) you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The lens outperforms the smc-A 50/1.4 from f2-f4. Both are rather unsharp at f1.4. Nature of the beast.

The advantage of the Rikenon P 50/1.4 is it's performance at ~f2-4.0 beats most older 50mm manual focus lenses. An exception in my arsenal is the Zeiss 50/1.4 AE (one specific copy of that lens that took me a long, long time to find).

The disadvantage of this lens is that it can be difficult to nail focus - common with many 50/1.4 and 50/1.2 lenses on digital. To get the most from this lens you need to use live view when using it at f1.4 to f2.0.

The lens is now $100 plus shipping. Not $95. Not $50. Based on the photo below, I will keep this lens rather than sell it for less.... cheers.

Updated the photo with a better representation of the ultra-sharpness of this lens.

I just raised the price back to $100 + shipping. No lower offers will be considered.
