If you don't mind how would you compare the two (16-85 vs 18-135)? I'm sure the 16-85 is better overall if you kept it but do you think it was worth the price difference?

The 18-135 is in fact very good (and very compact). The 16-85 is better (and bigger) especially wide open and at the borders.
I don't think it's worth the price difference, but I got the 16-85 very cheap. Unfortunately it was decentered and I had to use the warranty to get it fixed. Now it's very good:-)

Thank you for your answer... I own the 18-135 and was considering the 16-85, however I find the 16-85 a bit expensive for what it offers. I too saw the bad corners of 18-135 and if I wouldn't mind that at telephoto but I need good corners on the wide side.
