Collectors please note: Of the seven reported existing copies of the M42 (silver and black) preset 83mm f1.9 Takumar only two or three copies appear to have the original front lens cap which is silver, and stamped/embossed "AOCO"
It is possible though that this cap also fit other (also rare) silver and black auto takumar lenses (not sure)
This one is in good to excellent condition, is not warped or bent, but does have some minor rubbing on front and a few surface scratches.
The felt on the rear is in great condition considering its age.
The cap fits snugly on any 49mm front filter equipped lens.
I am asking for
$80* but
in truth I don't know what this lens cap is worth. The last 83/1.9 lens sold on eBay without a front cap, but with the original lens case (also quite rate) so if that person is looking to complete their set, this might be the one chance they get in a lifetime.

I would trade for the original lens case (brown, hand stitched, similarly embossed) for the 83/1.9 if in good condition (no mold), and might even toss in some cash.

I have checked my notes again, and it appears that until recently (this listing) there were 3 known original front caps for the 83/1.9 takumar. This is the fourth. One could guess that there may be more out there. But your chance of ever finding one is close to nil.
I can tell you that if you do ever find the 83mm 1.9 takumar for sale, the chances are it will be missing this front cap, and you will wish you had it.
