there is 18 months left on the Canadian warranty. it comes with a blank warranty card and i have the original sales receipt.

Free bump? Sure - mine just arrived a couple hours ago. This is an extremely versatile and fun lens!

These were taken from exactly the same location, at 12mm then at 24mm to show up-close aspect ratios for each FL:

ishino: shipping to, for example, California from Toronto will cost $25. I think price will vary depending on state, but generally at least $20. I prefer to keep it in Canada and not pay more for shipping, sorry.

Both lens are very nice (you can't go wrong with either one - other than the price of course), but all things being equal, a pentax is a Pentax... there is something in it that I can't explain, perhaps, it is all in the coating or optics.

this lens has similar distortion as the sigma 10 - 20 am i correct? no fisheye effect? is this still for sale?
