I was never aware until I saw this sale posting that Tamron had made their excellent 300mm f/2.8 into an Auto Focus version for Pentax bodies! I have a sense of serious drool, ok maybe just LBA, for this lens. The lenses I own from the Tamron Adaptall-2 days, both SP and regular, have always given me excellent results. In those days advertising that you built an f/3.5 210 zoom wasn't too big a deal but it was if it didn't get darker at 210mm. Or as many of that focal length did from Tamron just got a 1/3 of a stop darker at f/4. Then they comeout with a Vivitar Series One beating f/2.8 210! I wasn't aware that there were 5 versions of that lens made by Vivitar and only the third one built by Cosina was the good one.
But here Mike offers us all the goodness of LD elements, asperical elements and f/2.8 in an AF 300mm and for a reasonable price. All you have to do is check Ebay since that is the only place I have found another past listing of a Pentax mount example of this lens that sold for more than Mike is asking. If only I had an extra $4000 or so I could get this lens And K-1.
