Item Description

Let's spread the Pentax love!

I'm feeling generous...
I'm willing to give this lens away for free... It's in great condition and the glass is clean.
I only ask you pay for shipping +3% to cover any fees through Paypal.

If you are interested, comment below.

Ideally I'd like to give this to someone who is just starting out and is limited in their gear.
The lens is in great condition. I've had inquiries that just wanted to hack at it to test their hand at repair... I'm all for the education in that, however the lens is perfectly fine as is. I'd hate to see a good piece of glass destroyed before it had its fair share of light.

multiple inquiries will be weighed based on my personal discretion.

Cheers!
Logan

Hi, I'm interested in this lense. I just started to use manual focus lenses. I like these old lenses. Hope one day I can have enough money to get one a85.

.
Kudos to you for offering to help out!

I have a Sears 50 f/2, Pentax-A 50 f/1.7, and DA 50 f/1.8 though... I think I'm good.

For anyone thinking about it, the Pentax-A 50mm lenses are great for dipping your feet into fixed focal length, manual focus, and low light photography all at once. Pentax-A is easier for starting out than Pentax-M since it allows the camera to meter and control the aperture in all the different modes. 50mm is also a well developed focal length and most of them perform quite well. Even my $10 Sears 50mm was tack sharp and took great pictures, the only problem is that I couldn't use Av / TAv mode since it was full manual and I had to use stop-down metering.

However, the name USERACCESSDENIED does not represent that! Is this the name you chose, or this is some kind of reaction of the Forum software?

How nice of you.

Of course I would like it. But I know there are some folks out there on an extreme budget - perhaps a student? - who could make better use this kind offer more than most of us. I hope you find a good home for this gift.

haha it's actually a running joke of mine...
I had a very bad experience with Sony a few years back and everytime I tried to contact them about my issue I'd receive a notice stating my user access was denied. So I just ran with the username lol

As a young adult right out of school and trying to live paycheck to paycheck I certainly understand the difficulty in starting a hobby like photography with limited funds.
If only student loans didn't take up 60% of my pay!
I'm still very fortunate for the opportunity life has given me...

Hopefully this lens will have a great new home.
It's not much in the ranking of vintage glass, but every bit certainly helps when you're starting out!

Enjoy the A 50 lxmouseustc
