Tokina AT-X 90/2.5 Macro (the Bokina) in Ka-mount Trim

Asking Price
$349.00 USD Firm

Item Location

Item Description
Looking for a good home is this Tokina AT-X 90/2.5 Macro "Bokina" with matching 1:1 Macro Extender, both in Ka-mount.

The AT-X sibling to the Vivitar Series 1 90/2.5 Macro with its 1:1 Macro Adapter (which was also made by Tokina), it features improved coatings (as it is a newer lens than the VS1 version). The Tokina "Bokina" excels as a macro lens, as a portrait lens, and as an all-around short telephoto lens. It is sharp, even wide open, and it provides "bokeh to die for".

Some of the older Tokina "Bokina" copies (just like all VS1 "Bokina" copies) were produced in K-mount trim. However, the newer Tokina AT-X copies were released with Ka-mount functionality. As you likely know, Ka functionality is a whole lot more convenient than "green button" functionality -- while both mount types are compatible with all Pentax DSLRs, an older K-mount lens requires employing stop-down metering, while a Ka-mount lens, such as this one, can be used directly in several modes, such as in aperture-priority mode (my favorite Ka mode), metering accurately and automatically with the aperture wide open.

This particular copy of the Tokina AT-X 90/2.5 Macro "Bokina" (SN 8900192) is in EX+++ condition, optically, mechanically, and cosmetically. The glass is clear, and all functions (such as focusing and aperture action) work very well. The 1:1 Macro Extender (SN 8811178), which has been used rarely, is essentially in LN- condition.

Included with the lens are the original Tokina front and rear caps (for both the lens and the Macro Extender).
