Are you sure? It's supposed to just meter wide open since it doesn't have an A setting - how would it even know what to close down to, when the lens doesn't communicate the aperture ring setting to the body?

That is because , they all want these plastic throw away Vietnam specials that break as soon as you use them

Ummm no they don't. They are sturdy little things. And optically very good. But last I checked there wasn't one in this focal length.

I think the market for manual 135s might be a little saturated.

"Plastic throw-aways"? I don't know what kind of lenses YOU'VE been buying, but I've never had to throw away a single one of my polymer lenses.... nor have I had one break as soon as I used it. DA 50mm f:1.8 comes to mind. Or my 18-55mm WR or 50-200mm WR.... or my 55-300mm.
