Is the lens still for sale? Price of lens and filter at BH brand new is 350.
What is your best price?
Thanks.

Hi Jonathan,

Another FA 35 was sold for $345 on E-Bay (not inlcuding S&H) just about 3 days ago. My lens is in a better condition than one that was sold on E-Bay and has a higher serial number. Given that, I feel the price is fair.

What is your best price?

Thanks.
Gene

BandH price dropped to $299. It should be in stock soon, give them a call Monday.

I see you listed on ebay. if you don't sell there I am still interested.
You know, it's a used lens and filter no matter how you look at it, and if you want new prices - good luck.
Lens new = 299. Filter new +52. I would buy them used from you for 280. today.
Let me know.

That's what I offered Gene a few days back, but it looks like he made the right choice taking a chance on eBay: the bidding is already over $250 with 6 days to go!

Pentax prices on eBay have really reached Dutch tulip levels. Add to that bidders who go all-out from the first day, and Gene has a good chance of getting enough money from this lens to buy himself a new 31 limited...

Good luck with the auction, Gene!

In the old days, pre-ebay, if an item was "used" you ordinarily expected to pay used prices. This usually was a third to one half off the "new" price. Now, ebay has created an interesting phenomenon that I have been watching for awhile. People are paying near, at or over list price for items that can be bought new. Strange behavior.
Ebay seems to attract people who get caught up in the bidding or are so out of touch that they are willing to buy for the sake of buying. I have sold things myself and been amazed by it. Any thoughts on this type of shopping?

I agree. Another strange behavior on ebay is people bidding higher than the item goes from brand new on buy-it-now listings.

Ebay has become a great place to sell used stuff and buy new stuff.
