Oh This is a Super TL1000 for those that are interested. Many of these early ones actually had that written under the PM sticker

These are great. you can pretty much use them under water, in the depths of space.. Heck I should buy it just to use the Tair 37a....

Don't make me buy it you guys.

Wet public holiday so here are a few example pics from the Pentacon with the K3.

They are all in AV mode - raining with moderate heavy cloud cover taken from balcony focussing on the top leaves of a shrub a couple of meters away. The K3 was in AV mode and I was using the internal focussing system (red points and green spot) to determine focus. Lens was set to manual aperture. All shots started at ISO100 but the F16 setting needed a higher ISO (800) to freeze the leaves blowing in the light breeze. Even F8 is a tad motion blurred. Then a resting fly with a minimum focal distance shot also at ISO800.

At f1.8

At f4

At f8

At f16

Minimum focussing distance 0.33m or so.

All pictures straight out of camera and resized only for web display.

As has been said above - a very nice lens on digital. In fact I am half inclined to keep it for myself and keep it on the shelf next to the SMC Tak 50 1.4 the ST 55mm 1.8 and the Macro Tal 50mm f4 preset. It is that good -

Unlike the Takumars, the base of the Pentacon is very wide so it covers all the contacts on the K mount plate - (as did the Zeiss 50 2.8 by the way but unlike the Zeiss this lens has a very silky focus throw.)
