Getting rid of some excess gear that I no longer use so I can consolidate and get something better!

First off, I have a SMC DA 40mm f/2.8 Limited - this is NOT the newer HD version, but hey, it'll work on your K-1! There are some scuffs and scratches on the lens cap, but the lens itself is in good condition. There are no flaws or scratches on the front element, and there is no haze or fungus, though there is an annoying bit of dust inside the lens that has no effect on picture quality. Aperture blades are snappy and free of oil. Comes with its original caps and the leather pouch. I'm asking $200 $150 shipped. SOLD

Secondly, I have a SMC DA 55-300mm f/4-5.8 ED - this is NOT the newer HD WR version, and it is not the DA L version, so it has a metal mount and quick shift. There are signs of use on the lens barrel, mostly minor scuffs, but the glass is clean and free of flaws, scratches, haze, and fungus. There's a little bit of dust on the inside of the lens that has no impact on picture quality. I'll ship this with the Pentax S80-160 lens case. I'm asking $200 $165 shipped on this one. WITHDRAWN

Yes, it has the original metal screw-on cap that can be used as a lens hood.

see picture 1. The hood is the surrounding part around the tiny center cap. It screws into the lens shown without it in picture 2.

My honest info. I have never taken my hood off and shot anything. So I can't say that I have any idea how much the hood helps. The hood seems to work well - the way it is designed makes it take up very little space but still give pretty good protection. You can always order a PH-SA49 rectangular hood. It is designed for the DA 35 or FA 50 and will work on the DA 40. However the hood will dwarf the lens at that point.
