It took me almost a year to track down a copy of this lens. I've owned Sigma 24-70's and this lens is better. Unless you MUST have an aperture ring, you need this lens in your bag.

Every photographer has a style, from composition to subject matter. My particular style includes many subjects/compositions with bright points of light in frame. The 24-60, like many (most) other lenses, Pentax included, flare in such situations. Some people like the flare, I don't.

I went through many lenses with my K3 until I was happy with the Tamron 17-50, but that is APS-C only and useless on a K1. (No, 1000x no, I will not shoot crop mode, so just stop!)
In anticipation of a FF body, and after a whole lotta research, I settled on the 24-60 as being the best available lens. Also, at $300-ish, it was a heck of a lot cheaper than the DFA24-70.
I really like the 24-60 as a landscape lens, you can look through my portfolio and see several images I have captured with it. It's sharp, distortion is well controlled and CA is very very small. It's a great lens, but it flares in direct light. I'm not going to change my subject or style at this point (after 30+ years), because I how shoot is marketable. Therefore, I had to change lenses.

It is now redundant in my kit, so I figured I might as well try to recoup my cost. I've already sold a Tamron 90 Macro and a Tokina 20-35, all great lenses, all in fine working order, but all were purchased as "experiments". I have no reason to keep lenses (equipment) I won't use. It's why my K3 and 17-50 are up for sale as well.

One doesn't need a reason to sell a "good" lens other than they don't need it any more. If you have any doubts about me disclosing issues with lenses, please look through my sales thread history. You will see that I have been honest to a fault, and it has cost me 100's of dollars. But I place a high value on my integrity and have no desire to "pull one over" on someone.
