This is one of the “legendary” Pentax K mount lenses and is aptly named the “Black Dragon”, although in this case it is in disguise

This lens is clean cosmetically and functions well. I used it for a specialized application and had it covered with a custom LensCoat cover set Pentax Covers - LensCoat so that it would maintain its’ “collectors” value. It has original front and rear caps as well as a camo "snoot" front cover.

I have since acquired an SMC Pentax-M*67 800mm F6.7 ED (IF) with a matched 1.4X Extender, so this one is looking for a new home.

With all lenses of this size it requires a very sturdy tripod and good “long lens” technique.

The lens is 11 pounds, but with the case and packing it will weigh slightly more than 20 pounds. I will provide a quote for shipping.

It comes with the LensCoat covers as they sure would not fit anything else!

At one end you have this mounted on an LX or K2-DMD with all the add ons, 250-shot magazine back, winding motor, remote trigger, etc. etc. etc.; at the polar opposite extreme, you have someone who takes an ME with the 40mm M pancake right up to the subject and snaps a single frame that makes the cover of National Geographic.

Hey Paul,

This would be the perfect companion for your 500mm lens, sort of like "big brother-little brother", and since this is the longest lens Pentax ever made yours would be bigger than everyone!
