Item Description
I bought this in September of 2014 from KEH (in EX+ condition) and it has been a staple of my landscape, cityscape, and architectural photography hobby. It has been an excellent lens for me during its whole life, and I wish it were FF compatible. But it's not. And since getting a K-1, it's sat and gathered dust in a case by itself... and as of last week it got replaced with the refurb. 12-24 DG.

The lens itself is in the same condition it arrived in. However, I think the lens hood has seen a few more dings and scuffs. I would like the photos to speak honestly about the condition that the lens and hood are in. None of the hood distresses impacts photo quality at all, it's all aesthetic. All lens elements appear clear, no signs of fungus, and no visible dust inside the lens even under flashlight scrutiny. The aperture blades have never had a hang-up or gotten stuck.

The AF is screwdrive based and has been incredibly accurate for me. I did not have to use fine-tuning AF adjustment on my K-5iis for this lens to be right on the money. It's hands-down been my favorite ultra-wide that I've ever shot with. Sharpness and IQ are second to none as far as I can tell.

Being that I bought it from KEH, I don't think it arrived with its original box. If, however, I come across it (now that I'm looking), it will definitely come along. It comes with the original front and rear caps and lens hood.

I aimed to pick photos which show how the lens handles distortion versus straight lines across the frame, edge-to-edge sharpness, potential for flaring in common usage, color representation, and chromatic aberrations in harsh light conditions.
