Pentax FA 43mm f1.9 Limited lens (Japan)- price drop!

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Pentax FA 43mm f1.9 Limited lens (Japan)

Asking Price
475.00 USD

Item Location
Wheat Ridge, Colorado (United States)

Item Description
Here's a fine little Pentax FA 43mm f1.9 Limited lens, made in Japan as some folks prefer. A low serial number, too! It has no known issues. The lens cap has a patch of reduced gloss, like a strain, but otherwise I'd call it Like New. I've used it only a little on my K-5IIs, and the results look great. Frankly, I didn't want to fall in love with this lovely lens. I knew I'd have to sell it to afford my K-1, which is now on the way.

Sold with original caps and leather case.

It's unfortunate you won't get to see its true potential since it was essentially made for the K-1.

Regardless that's a nice lens with the original brown (real) leather pouch which don't come up often. All the best with the sale!

I just have one kid, but 20 Pentax lenses. And my past experience with FF within Sony alpha taught me that once you're sure you have the best camera, it's not really so important to have "the best lenses." I no longer needed to compensate for my smaller format. And I think my FA 35/2 will fill in for this pretty well.

The 43 is VERY special on the K-1! Once you try it you may not be up to the separation.

That's some of the most peculiar reasoning I've read...

Anyway, a lovely looking lens at a good price, GLWS

In my house I have a 30 by 16 inch print of an center-pivot irrigator spraying water over the fields. Not your dream subject, perhaps, but it had an interesting shape and the light was right. I used 1/2000, and stood about 50 feet away from the focal point. When I bury my nose in the print, I can spot individual drops of water spraying through the air! The lens was a humble Minolta 100-200/4.5 zoom that had a market value of about $50. In those favorable conditions, I doubt a Sony/Zeiss would have done any better.

Today's tech generally makes old lenses better. With Lightroom, I can make a lens sharper and more colorful, and correct distortion too. But it can't enlarge the OVF view of my camera, or give that camera a tilting screen, or better stabilization. Only the K-1 can give me that.

Regardless of all that chat, the lens is still for sale.
