PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Bargain Lenses: F 100 Macro, Sigma AF 499 SOLD, FA 35

Asking Price
$125 USD

Item Location
Mint Hill, NC (United States)

Item Description
SOLD
Pentax F 100 f/2.8 Macro - $260 (See below)
This lens was recently serviced by Dcshooter (Full CLA) and while it is clean and functional a minor issue was found. The cemented lens group has a very slight separation that results in a very small (1/8th inch or less) area of slight haze on one side of the outside edge of this group. The optical effect of this is minimal, even at f/2.8. By the time the lens is stopped down to f/4 the entire area of the haze is obscured by the aperture blades which are right next to this group. I could not see any degradation of the images from f/4 and frankly I couldn't see problems even at f/2.8 though there must be some however slight.

Pentax FA 35 f/2 - $110 (see below) Pictures of the lens are located here: FA 35 For Sale | Flickr
This lens was the victim of a fall. It was fully enclosed in a lowepro case attached to my K-3 when it tipped over and fell 2 feet to the floor. The lens took the hit and was jammed. I sent to dcshooter and he serviced it (Full CLA) - the lens does not autofocus and does not report aperture so it acts like an M or K series (green button, manual focus). The lens is sharp and all elements are in excellent shape. Dcshooter thinks that if a donor lens can be found the microchip may be the damaged part - replacement of this may yield a fully functional FA 35. In the meantime I have priced it as though it was an inferior M 35 f/2 (slightly less capable manual focus ring). No hood btw.

Sigma AF 400 f/5.6 - $150 (Pictures of the lens: Sigma AF 400 f/5.6 For Sale | Flickr
This lens was acquired on GreedBay early in my LBA phase. The lens came in with fungus and I didn't know better so I didn't dispute condition. The lens has been professionally cleaned of all fungus (Full CLA) and is quite clean but still shows some etched coatings inside. The lens is known for being a bit soft and having problems with CA and lower contrast - HOWEVER it is the lightest 400mm full frame lens I can think of and with a little PP the pictures aren't bad at all. I would not part with it but I have an FA* 300 and a DA* 60-250 etc.

That 35/2 is really tempting. I'm Thinking of using it on my m43 body so non-AF is not an issue for me.

I just had it CLA'd by dcshooter, it is a fine lens, I should be able to post pictures of it tonight.

Pictures from it are here:

Pictures of the 35 and 400 are now in the post.

These poor lenses need a home - they never get to play anymore...

FA 35 while no longer AF is a stunning lens - manual focus only and in M mode this is still a great lens.
