It is very clean externally. It has a few specs of dust internally, but it is a clean model. It works perfectly acceptable with the SDM lenses as I tested it on the DA*55 I own and it did just fine. At a fraction of the cost of the Pentax version - it is a great deal  It works very well with screw drive lenses also.
