What is the problem with the aperature on the k-50. I'm looking to buy my first DSLR so i know very little. I also have very low budget so I'm looking at legacy lenses. Would the manual Aperature rings bypass the problem?

Yes, with manual aperture you can make pictures, with no problem

Did you try using the K-50 with the AA adapter? I fixed mine using the adapter with Eneloops and now I can use any lens with it.
