Item Description
First, a little story. I'm posting these here for sale because I want them to be used. Each and every item here has been a ton of fun to shoot and I've enjoyed their performance. They have a lot of sentimental value and I had an alternate plan to rest this gear but I decided to give someone the chance to shoot them too. So please, ask questions and make offers because if they aren't sold then I'm going with plan B which is a lot more melancholy.

All photos are in my Google Drive. Link below.

Pentax LX (SN 5224855) [Fair] - This body was a lot less used than the other. Still, it managed to get some wear. BODY1-4 shows the leather peeling up on the left side. BODY1-5 shows a scratch off the tripod mount. Nothing wrong functionally though. Mirror and glass in prism are both good to excellent.

Pentax LX (SN 5321913) [Fair] - This was the workhorse of the two. Along time ago, I thought it would be fun to have my kids put stickers on the body. Most fell right off after a week or so but some have endured, including the SF 710 (1-87) SECRET sticker which might be a pain to remove so I'll do it professionally & locally if requested by the buyer. This body also has a lot more wear on the metal; in particular, a nasty dent right on the magnet for the shutter that it received from a fall on Mount Suribachi, Iwo Jima (Hoorah to any former Marines like myself). The dent destroyed the magnet but thanks to Eric Hendrickson it was fixed (emails to prove it if need be). Since then, repair in 2010, it hasn't faltered at all.

NOTE: A long time ago, I did something bad to these two lenses. I converted them both to EOS mount. This was in the heyday of me owning a 5D Mark 2 and taking advantage of the amazing video capabilities with these obscure pieces of glass. In the process, I removed any plastic guards that were present near the mounts along with the contact bearings. They were put back together by me and have been in good working order BUT they do not have their bearings for contact information to digital cameras. They can only be used manually on digital bodies by setting their focal length and exposing with TvShift (I think this is how you do it). I shot them a few times on my K-50 but only on manual. Other than that issue of being gutted, their mounts are normal PK mounts and they've worked on the LXs with no issues.

Voigtlander Nokton 58mm/F1.4 SL II [Good] - Dust is present but of course I'm not shooting this lens at anything about f/4. No scratches on the glass at all. Wear on the aperture ring but the focus ring, which is rubberized, is fine. The focus throw feels soooooo good.

Carl Zeiss Distagon T * 28mm f/2 ZK [Good] - A lot less dust than the Nokton and the glass is flawless. The body has a scratch on the front element tube which is a small silver blot. You can see it on LENS2-3. The aperture ring has some wear but the focus ring has a lot more. Both are metal unlike the Nokton's rubberized focus ring.

This set has been amazing to use. The glass is awesome and really unique in their own way. The Nokton feels so good to use and that 60-ish focal length really lets you isolate a lot of the subject from a good distance. The bokeh is great. And the Zeiss. Oh my goodness. The Zeiss. Contrast. This is what I always wanted and the Zeiss gave me boatloads of it. If requested, I can post more samples with the lenses from my history or even throw them on the K-50 and do "test" shots. Any questions are welcomed. If reputation is a question, tell me. I can provide a laundry list of photographers here in Japan and the US who can vouch for me.

So here is the deal. I want to sell this as a complete set. No parting out. I am willing to take a loss so throw me offers. As long as I know they will be used, I won't even care about the financial. I just want them used. That being said, I came to $1000 as the first asking price because despite all the wear and gutted mounts, these things still work. I shot a roll through them just this December for my new son. So they are fine. Just not being used as much as they deserve to be.

Thanks for reading.
