That's right Shanti, Foto Looman has allways good prices and I'm for long hoping for an upgrade in AF-performens. For now I stck with APS-C , I have to many good lenses but a good AF Camera is a good idea.

Have a fine week-end

Cheers, Dick

Hi Shanti,
I'm with you about the ,not useble AFC, therefor I only use the AFS. So may be I have to invest in onother body as well (I have the DA300,The DA 60-250 and for both an 1,4 Pentax TC. I was hoping the 150-450 will do the job but I have to make up my mind. I thank you for you'r honest answer.

Cheers

Dick
Hi Shanti,
Yes foto Loomans is OK and mostly cheaper as usual. May I take a trip there and try the 150-450 but I thank think an extra body wil do the trick.

Have a nice week-end

Cheers

Dick

Hi Shanti,
May be you get my answer for the 3 time but I don't see the other 3. Yes I know Foto Loomans , they are cheaper in most of the time and have now 5 years warrenty standard. May be it is the best that I try the 150-450 there if it is an extra on my DA 300 and DA 60-250 with my 2 Pentax TC's

Have a nice week-end

Cheers

Hi Dick
Good idea to try it there.. with the 1.7TC it works on K1, 1.4 center is ok--but not optimal
Good weekend to you as well

Cheers Shanti

Regards to Viborg, guys! (It's more than ten years ago, but I visited this nice town many times on business.)

Concerning the AFC topic... I keep using K-3 for birding, as I regard APS-C as more suitable in this respect than FF. It's not always easy, the amount of keepers is rather small, but when there's enough light, it works not that bad. And I believe next year we'll see the new APS-C flagship, which (I hope...) will improve AF radically.

Wow... hello Shanti.

Never thought I would see one of these in Denmark!
And... Western Denmark, you say?
I live near Viborg. And I just bought the Sigma 500mm f4.5, which kind of disqualifies me from getting this one too. But, all the same - I certainly wouldn't mind taking a look, if that was possible. Any chance we are sort of neighbours?

What's your experience with Sigma 500mm f4.5 so far? I was deciding between this one and DA560 about 2-3 years ago (and the latter won the competition :-)).

I am 100% with you here - also battling APS-C speed and accuracy on BIF-targets. I have high hopes for the next flagship too, but after the CP+ interview I am wondering how long we will have to wait for it.

Well, maybe you made the right choice. It IS a bit early to say, and I plan to try it out some more during the easter holidays. But AF seems to be the weak point for the Sigma. At least with my copy it seems to have some trouble finding focus. Maybe I will get the hang of it though - I did not spend enough time with it to determine for sure if the fault is with the lens or just with my needing to get to know it better.
