Item Description
Yup, I am indeed selling my 1.7x AFA TC. I bought it a few months ago to use with my Adaptall-2 300/2.8 (360B) and it has worked very, very well with it. However, I'm finding that I just don't need the AF capability that much - I do so much manual-focusing with my long tele lenses that it's like second nature to me. I have several very good 1.4x TC's and the Pentax A 2x TC, so I don't need another TC.

I bought the 1,7x AFA on this forum last year. It is in excellent cosmetic and functional condition, never dropped, used in inclement weather, left in the car overnight, etc. It has resided in a clean, smoker-free home for as long as I've owned it.

Not sure what I'd want in a trade, but feel free to PM me any suggestions! I don't currently own a lens that goes wider than 35mm, so maybe... ?

All sample photos taken with K-5 II + 300/2.8 + 1.7x AFA. Last photo added the A 1.4x-S TC.

I have the same combo (1.7x AFA + Tamron 300/2.8 with PKA adapter) and they work together beautifully!

Yes, that combo is pretty darn sharp, even moreso than my favorite combo, the A 400/5.6 + 1.4x-L. But the A 400/5.6 by itself is my favorite tele lens, and I'm sort of messing myself up with long glass not just with the TC but also lenses with focus rings that turn the opposite way from Pentax.

At some point, I will probably regret selling this.
