[SOLD] FS: Pentax FA* 250-600mm F5.6

This is a very good copy of a very rare lens. I used it regularly when I first bought it, but it has not seen much action in the past year. I am now slowly migrating to C*non gear, and I need to sell this. I bought this lens used from Adorama in August of 2005 in an eBay auction (see this discussion on dpreview: Lookee what I got!: Pentax SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

It comes in the original aluminum case, with lens manual, strap, drop in filter kit and the bottom portion of the warranty registration card. The aluminum case has a few minor blemishes, but the lens is in perfect condition.

I would prefer to sell to someone in the Seattle area so that we could conduct the transaction in person, but I am will consider shipping to the US, Canada, Western Europe and Australia.

Please be aware that this is a very heavy lens that requires a serious support system for stability. I used a Wimberly head on a Gitzo 1325 tripod and got good results after some practice.

$4000 OBO

Please email me with questions.

Would you mind posting pics of the lens showing its condition, specifically the lens elements themselves? Thank you.

You bet. I'll take some in the morning and post them. Sorry that I didn't see your message earlier, I was expecting private messages.

Man, oh man...

... I could be a real photographer with that beast. Just like those C*n*n guys on the sidelines at the SuperBowl.

The glare coming off the silver finish on that lens will definitely get the attention of those Canikon shooters on the sidelines at the superbowl

To the OP - Welcome to the forums. Why have you jumped to Canon?

That looks like one serious bit of kit that would surely get you noticed (if you are into being noticed)

Would it fit in the Lowepro Micro Trekker 100?

Hi,
You got a PM
Just FYI:

I dropped the seller a PM on 2/23, and already at that point the lens had a potential buyer...

That's it - I'm getting a real job so I can buy all these lenses. Maybe once I own all the greatest lenses in the world, I won't feel the need to buy any more...

Thanks Adam.
The seller has ignored my PM so I can guess that the lens is sold.

I have just returned from Australia. A potential buyer has been evaluating the lens while I was away and has now decided to purchase it. My apologies for not responding to all posts as I did not have internet access for much of my trip.
