As a point of interest, when a 645x is mounted to this lens assembly, is the point of balance anywhere near the threaded holes under the mount, or is there still a significant turning moment?

Hello Kas. Unfortunately, I can't directly answer your question, as I don't have a 645 format film or digital camera to do a test for you. As I recall when I had this lens mounted to my K-1 via a 645 to K mount adapter and that assembly mounted to my gimbal head with a 3 inch Arca Swiss style plate, I was able to achieve balance. But, I can't absolutely swear to this...it's what I recall from playing around with the lens, but not paying particular attention to the issue you've raised. My gut tells me the answer to your question is "yes" with a 645 format camera mounted, but again, I'm not 100% sure. Sorry for the wishy washy response.

PS - I have sold the 645 to K mount adapter that I had for awhile, so am now unable to try testing balance with that combination.
