SMC PENTAX 1:2/35 K35/2 (Aperture Lever Removed)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
SMC PENTAX 1:2/35 K35/2 (APERTURE LEVER REMOVED)

Asking Price
100.00 USD

Item Location
St. Louis, MO (United States)

Item Description
NOTE: THIS LENS DOES NOT HAVE AN APERTURE LEVER. IT WAS REMOVED BY A CANON USER TO MOUNT CONVERTED TO A CANON CAMERA. NO RETURNS WILL BE ACCEPTED. PRICED ACCORDINGLY.

I bought this from a member. The listing did not make clear the aperture lever had been removed to make it useful with a Canon converter. I did use it stop-down metering for quite a while, then obtained a 'good' copy. I was unable to find a technician who could/would attempt to braise an extension on the damaged lever, so I'll sell it as a damaged lens.

The glass itself is clean and clear - no fungus or element separation and minimal dust. Aperture blades are free of oil and snappy (not that it matters) and the click stops are firm. Focusing helicoid has the proper feel and resistance. Body is free of marks and engraved markings are bright and clear. Aside from the damage it is a nice lens..

I think it will be useful on a MILC, or any K-mount camera stopped down, or with a Canon converter on a FF Canon camera.

:Please note that on a K-mount camera this will operate as if it is an m42 lens in Av Mode:

This is an opportunity to have all the goodness of the K35/2 images a bit less conveniently than with a non-eunuched lens.

I'd find this pretty tempting if I didn't have a Mir-24M to use on my 5D. Good luck!

Basically gives you the same functionality as an m42 lens -- I actually prefer it. I've done this (reversibly) on some of my manual K-mounts on purpose so I can use Av mode instead of M all the time. In fact I just bought a Super Tak 35/2 otherwise I'd be mighty interested in this.

This is not the first mutilated Pentax lens that I have seen on sale. Those Canon lusers have a lot to answer for.

Good luck with sale.

This is a nice lens regardless of being castrated or not. I want it badly , but spent my money elsewhere for the next month.
I cant believe someone hasn't snatched it up yet.
