[SOLD] Takumar-A 70-200mm f/4 by Pentax

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Takumar-A 70-200mm f/4 by Pentax

Asking Price
US $55

Item Description
This is a multicoated Takumar-A 70-200mm f/4 in very good external condition, looks to have been barely used at all. It is a single action zoom, with the ring moving and rotating freely. The aperture is very snappy, the spring is clearly not worn out! No oil on blades, either. The mount has the contacts to pass aperture information to the body so you can shoot in all the program modes. There is a macro mode at 200mm (where you want it!) that goes down to an impressive 1:3 reproduction ratio.

Internally, while there is no dust, I can see some coating degradation around the edges of one of the outer elements, I think it's the 2nd from the front. As such, it does not affect image quality. In fact, if I didn't point it out, I don't think the potential buyer would have noticed it as it's extremely difficult to see. Initially I thought it might be fungus, but it doesn't have the web-like appearance and looks more like micro bubbles. I think the previous owner may have opened the lens up to clean it as there are some marks on the inner side of the filter ring (but nothing on the glass). A filter will still screw in without problems. it takes 58mm, by the way (no filter included). Oh, and both caps are included.

As you can see, I am going for full disclosure. I don't want anyone to think I'm trying to con them. Check out my feedback and you'll see what I'm about.

So because of this problem with the inner element, I've dropped the price significantly. It doesn't affect the pictures, yet you still get a discount. Are you gonna complain?

I'll post pics tomorrow, Saturday, but if you want to get in line and stake your claim to this nice lens (pending pics), go ahead and do so. The order will be established by postings to the thread (NOT PMs), so post your interest here and then shoot me a PM afterwards.

I am also selling a further 6 lenses here. Note that for each extra lens you buy you can subtract $4 from the price.

I believe it's the same lens, just different label. You can probably verify if it looks the same externally.

And thanks for the kudos

Hi Miserere, I'm sending you a PM.
Just a note, your title says Takumar-A 70-200mm f/4 by Pentax but your description says:

"This is a multicoated Takumar-A 80-200mm f/4"

The pic looks like it's 70 something...

Thanks ichai, I've corrected that. The title is right, it's a 70-200mm focal length.

And PM replied
