Your instincts are good, sold to this member however, was tempted by the 16-45 offered, but will likely get a grip and some longish consumer zoom. Thanks.

yeah get the grip, you've got wide covered with the 12-24 and the gap to 50 isn't that bad. My grip never comes off the camera....except to change the battery, you won't regret buying it.
