FYI:
This lens looks like the Cosina plastic-macros twin (which is, according to Photozone.de, a good performer).

Cosina AF 100mm f/3.5 macro (Pentax) - Lab Test Report/Review

If I am right, this should be an excellent "not-too-serious"-macro, MF being an non-issue, as the focus feel is much better than an AF lens, and AF at 1:2 macro is near impossible anyway).

(I am sorry I'm not interested myself, just trying to help a bit .)

I recently bought the same lens, and it is a very good performer (I do have the 1:1 converter lens). As above, I don't need this lens but would like to encourage someone in need of a low-cost macro option to give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

PRICE DROP

$100 shipped, +$5 for canada

PRICE DROP AGAIN $90 shipped!

I'd really like someone else to have this lens or else it will collect dust and it will never get the images it should be capturing!

When you put the lens and cam on table, the tape would help avoid scratches on the hood. Quite some friends here do the same, not me though

Interesting, I guess it is easier to clean off the tape goo than repair a scratch.
