[SOLD] Dell Ultrasharp 2007FPb LCD Monitor UXGA 1600x1200 S-IPS Panel

Moved to ebay 330276251833, sale here closed

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Dell Ultrasharp 2007FPb LCD S-IPS Panel

Asking Price
$255

Item Description
In like-new condition, no dead pixels (I can take a picture that shows EVERY pixels if you send me a 1600x1200 image), the screen is perfect, no scratch or anything on the screen and the body.

This is a great monitor, bright, and shows accurate colors. Ideal for professional photographers to examine & edit their pictures.

I confirm that this uses the premium S-IPS panel - you don't see them anymore in the market (since IPS no longer exists). This is even much superior than the current MVA panel that are used in most high-end LCD monitors (MVA is a compromise between the IPS and the low-end TN).

I don't mean to be snotty, but how does this comply with the forum description?

"Buy or sell Pentax photo equipment in this section!"

If we were allowed to sell anything there'd be a flurry of X-boxes and motorcycles listed for sale here.

Didn't notice that - I saw some other guys selling non-pentax branded stuff here. I should have read the rule more carefully.

I will take it off soon, but I need to take a nap now...

Nobody complained about selling a Creative PMP. Although not Pentax, all the items sold had a connection to the world of photography.

In this case, the monitor can be used in post-processing and other photography-related tasks.

I don't mind the selling of non-pentax items...

What I do mind is being asked to pay for paypal fees. I'm sorry but a seller should always be responsible for such fees.

Couldn't agree more.

How cheap can some people get?

As a seller, paying 4.5% to PayPal annoys the hell out of me. I don't ask my buyers to pay the fees, but I wish I could, especially if the item is several hundred dollars.

As a buyer, I'm more than happy to send sellers payment by money order so they don't have to pay the fees, and many here on PentaxForums prefer that.

This isn't a dig against you, Dan; I'm just ranting at PayPal. I remember a long time ago when fees were around 3% or less, and I'm fully expecting them to raise them to 5% at some point.

No worries; every person is entitled to their own opinion.

Although money orders avoid having to deal with PayPal, they imply a degree of trust between the seller and buyer, and considering the swelling numbers of forum members, hardly anybody knows anybody else. At least not to the extent of using money orders.

On top of that, PayPal is so much more convenient. Just sit on our butts in front of a monitor and click a couple of buttons. Et Voilą!

I'm not defending PayPal in any way, just making statements.

That just about sums it up

As for selling a computer screen on the forum, I'm all for it. Where do people look at their photographs most of the time? Can you imagine postprocessing on Photoshop without a screen!?!?!?

Not to make a big deal out of this, but charging the buyer for paypal fees violates the paypal terms of use and voids the seller's protection. For a seller, you are definitely better off paying the fees yourself.

I just removed the paypal fee, but since it's controversial selling a non-pentax item, I am posting it to ebay sometime soon, after which, I will take this ad off.

Sorry about all the concerns it brings to you.

No concerns; it's just an unusual thing to post on a photography forum.
If anybody has been looking for a good LCD panel, this one would be it, IMO.

PS: You might also want to rethink that "shipping Worldwide" deal. It'd end up costing more than the monitor.

Roll Paypal fees into your asking price if it's a concern. Problem solved.

Well, that would imply a neverending calculation, analogue to the old story of the race between the turtle and the haze.

And give discount to people who don't use Paypal.
