[SOLD] Pentax SMC - A* 200mm f4 macro

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Pentax SMC - A* 200mm f4 macro

Asking Price
2200 US

Item Description
What else needs to be said about this macro lens? A legendary macro lens that has one of the best resolution, contrast and long reach ability for insect macros.

The originaly owner is a Canon Pro who works for various magazine companies in US based in New York. His main interest is macro work and sold this lens to me due to the reason that his 1Ds Mark II body mount modification for k mount was a failure.

The lens comes wtih a tripod mount and it has little or almost no paint loss. The optical quality is amazing as you can see from my gallery

Wow, a rare GEMs of a lens.

If you after crawlies, bugs and any other insect where you need the additional working distance, then this is the lens to go for. Beautiful creamy bokeh even stopping down at f8, f11 and isolating subjects becomes easier with this lens.

I love mine.

Sigh, money not enough...

Hmmm, why are the Aussies letting go of Pentax gear?

Lack of use doesn't justify keeping them?

Just my 2 cents.

OMG, we definitely need a drooling emoticon. I use macro roughly 1/2 the time and could justify this one for the 50mm f1.2 but lack the funds.

All you need to do is convince my wife I need it, and I'll buy it. Oh, did I mention she knows how to use a gun?

I've been dreaming to own this lens.

Keep a Super Program or something equally inexpensive, all you need.

Fiscal Responsibility Silliness! Whip out your visa cards and own the best piece of glass you'll likely ever touch! I never regretted using a visa for this lens when I bought it new in the '90's and now Marcus Young is enjoying that lens in Singapore.
Generally, consumer items can't be discussed using the term "investment" but this one can. Due to scarcity and demand, you have nothing to worry about owning this item. If you need to cash in for a house payment, you can do so at any time and probably at a profit. Why'd I sell mine? Got an FA*200/4 Macro, but that's so rare none of us is likely to see more than one a lifetime. With this A* you'll get about one or two chances a year. The more you wait the more expensive the next one will be. This should be a quick draw contest to see who can get their credit card out quickest! Spouse? Didn't know any of us signed up to forgo our dreams and wishes when we got married. Your happiness should be your spouse's first concern, if not, crap, condolences.
Note: my tongue is planted firmly in my cheek and yes, I'm a smart alec. Still, this lens will impact your life in a positive manner. Buy it now!

This lens may be a better investment than cash right now, depending on what country you live in. Of course, that assumes you can part with it at some point in the future.
