Item Description
Ok, the proper name, from the front of the lens is "Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 1:1.4/50", but I prefer 50/1.4... Oh well.

This lens is in great shape where it counts, the glass and mechanical movements, and although it's scuffed a bit, there are no dings or dents.

The glass is nearly flawless - on close inspection after cleaning the front element, you can see one or two spots which look like specs of dust but won't brush off, so I assume these are tiny flaws in the coating of the front element. Leave the cap off while shooting for a couple minutes, and you can't see these spots anymore as they blend in with the dust that has landed by then. The rear element looks flawless to me. There's very limited dust, and no fungus inside this lens.

The aperture blades are clean, dry, oil free, and snappy (though I've never gotten to take advantage of that). The aperture ring turns nicely with nice stops on the apertures. The focus ring... Fantastic! Old school knurled metal and oh so smooth. I'm gonna miss that focusing ring.

Re. Caps and Case: The rear cap may be original, the front cap I bought on ebay, and the case had a Vivitar m42 2X TC in it when I got this lens and it's sisters, but I found that the 50 fit in the case, and left the TC out on the shelf so this lens could have a case.

The S-M-C Tak 50 1.4 one of my favorite MF lenses. Only my Vivi series 1 105 gets more use...

I actually use this one more than my FA 50 1.4 Whoever gets it will enjoy it....

Lens is sold.

Here's one on ebay. (not mine, but I bid on it on a whim, and now I don't want it...)
