[SOLD] Vivitar S1 105/2.5 Macro N 2240****

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

SOLD
Vivitar S1 105/2.5 Macro N 2240****

Asking Price
SOLD

Item Description
Famous Vivitar Series 1 VMC 105/2.5 Macro 1:1 lens. I got it just over a year ago, brand new, although it was made in 80's.
It has A settings and will operate in all modes on your Pentax SLR and DSLR.
Full frame, manual focus lens. Filter thread is 55mm

Boy, is it sharp. Compare to this lens FA 50/1.4 at F8 looks ... soft.

Serial # 2240**** , I think it is made by Kiron.

I boght it new and mounted it on my K10D 2 times, both times not for macro work.

I am just not a macro person and although this beauty can be used not only for macro application, i rather sell it and use the funds to get equipment that I need more.

Lens is mint, of course there are no scratches or any other defects, it is unused. I have leather case and a box with all the papers.
Viviar S1 lens cap has broken locks, this is the way it came from the store, really weak design. I will include it and I will include generic replacement lens cap that works.

Snapshot of the Lens cap made with this lens @ F2.5, bokeh of this lens is also very nice, this is why you can use it for Macro and other types of photography.

I believe you will find the filter thread size is 52mm. A great lens. I love mine.

Even though I've already got the same lens, just of the Lester A. Dine variety, I'd snatch this up as a backup if I had the money. It's an amazing lens.

The sharpness of this lens is awesome. I find it one of the best Macro lenses I have ever experienced.

Good price, given the shape it's in. I have the Lester Dine flavour, and am wondering if anybody knows whether the Vivitar really is f/2.5 or if it measures in at f/2.8 in reality.

I've read that the Vivitar's f2.5 rating was just marketing; that the Viv, the Dine and the Kiron all have the same mechanicals. I have both the Viv S1 and the Dine and they're both great. The little dental pictograms make a great conversation starter!
