[SOLD] Ricoh 2X Macro Focusing TC

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Ricoh 2X Macro Focusing TC

Asking Price
Now- $45 Shipped.

Item Description
This is a Ricoh version of the Vivitar 2X MFTC (identical I think except as outlined below), It will stop down the lens but doesn't pass aperture info, so you will have to use green button metering. It is in "like new -" shape with flawless glass, and the only marks be the two tiny paint chips above the word macro (visible in the picture below). It does have the Ricoh pin, but it takes the form of a rounded ball bearing, and I've had this TC on and off the camera (K200d) many times without it even hinting at sticking. However I'd like to emphasize that you use this at your own risk, and I can't help if your TC does get stuck on your camera.

Edit: Comes with front and rear cap (neither original).

This'll probably go to ebay soon... I have a Tamron 90mm 1:1 macro, so never use this anymore. Trying to clear up space in my cupboard, and pay for the new acquisition...

Gone to ebay. Starts at 99... You might get a bargain.

It's amazing how lenses are popular for a while and the price goes through the roof and then all of a sudden you can't hardly give them away. Before I got my Vivitar 2.8 Macro I tried buying several of these on ebay and I ran many of them up to $100.00 and was out bid. I never did get one.

Yeah. I bought this just after that last surge I think. Two and a half days left on the auction: 2X Macro Focusing Teleconverter - Ricoh / Pentax PK EXC - eBay (item 280281412431 end time Nov-08-08 10:00:00 PST)

So true. I remember these would go for $70-100 (+S&H), or $100-140 (+S&H) for the P/KA versions, and now nobody wants one.

I did eventually get a P/KA one for occasional macro and it's very good coupled with a fast 50 like the FA 50mm f/1.4.

As for the Ricoh pin, if it's the ball-bearing type, those pose no problems. I have a lens with one of those and it mounts/unmounts without problems. It's when the pin is a retractable cylinder that you're in trouble. And this is exactly the same as the Vivitar, just different brand name.

Good luck with the sale!

Thanks. It is indeed the ball-bearing type of ricoh pin, and never caused problems on my camera.

I can attest to great little converter in the similar Vivitar 2x Macro Converter which doubles up a good 50mm as 100mm in one end and 100mm 1:1 macro in the other end.

I have the Kenko 2x Macro Teleplus MC7
and it works out great especially on A lens as mine has pk/A with aperture pass through. If you don't mind about stop down metering, what OP has posted is still a great gadget to have. I highly recommend this gadget. The macro results on flower can go from good to unbelievable, especially consider that I used it on a normal 50mm lens. I used it few times on my FA 50 f/1.4, M 50 f/1.7 and A 50 f/1.7, all have very decent macro as well as fast 100mm tele results

A decent dual 100mm and 1:1 Macro

Kenko 2x Macro Teleplus MC7

As a 100mm tele with M 50 f/1.7

As a 1:2 macro with Pentax FA 50 f/1.4

with Pentax A 50 f/2.8 1:2 Macro

Thanks,
Hin

Thanks Hin,

40 minutes left. Only $1.40 right now. You might get a screamin' deal here... (I maybe should have started the bidding higher than .99 - oh well).
