I'd definitely have grabbed this but I just recently bought one myself off eBay, which turned out to be a Tokina-built one. I haven't really had a chance to use it much (K20D back to Pentax for the second time now) but from what I can see, it looks pretty nice. $30 for a lens like this is a steal no matter how you slice it!

This is an attractive 200mm lens. I hope someone will notice.

I have the K mount version of this Komine 200mm f/3.5 and I can use it wide open and things are sharp. When I combine it with my Pentax F-1.7x AF TC, I have a good 340mm rig that is hand-holdable to shoot hummingbird in fly. And I expect similar qualities with the M42 version

Thanks,
Hin

Thanks Hin, I considered converting it with a permanent adapter ring installation as detailed on your tech blog, but as I still don't think I'd use it enough to warrant keeping it.

I just bought an adapter to do just that, as I don't plan to buy a spotmatic any time soon

I don't use the lens all that often either, but for the price I paid (similar to yours) it's worth having around for when I really need a sharp 200m at f/3.5.

If you're willing to do a BIN on eBay for the same price, I think I could be persuaded to pick it up... Maybe as a pre-approved buyer or however such things are usually set up.
