Extremely rare Pentax KX motor drive camera, split prism w/box & papers - Lower price

I never thought I'd part with my first Pentax. It's a rare KX film, motor drive body with split prism, box, papers, recent cla by Eric ($150). It's not something you see every day, or every year but perhaps once every decade.

The camera is used, but not overly so. There is some brassing on the bottom and a small dimple in the bottom plate. The photo looks worst than it is. I have the battery cap with batteries, which is not shown in the attachment

The following photos were taken before the cla. The camera is still currently wrapped in the bubble wrap from return from Eric. I'll try to get better photos this weekend.

Shipping is worldwide, Payment through PayPal. Asking price $500 U.S.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Please note that this is a motor drive body only. The separate motor drive is not included in this listing.

I still remember when you mentioned that you got this. Very rare find. I was lucky enough to find one myself a while ago

Nice camera. Is the timer stuck at that angle?

Yes, never planned on selling but the time has come due to circumstances beyond my control. Glad you found a good copy. Does yours have the split prism? My understanding is they are quite rare.

Timer is not stuck, that's the way they were built. It still works, as designed.

According to I Eric H fewer than 10% of KX had a split focusing screen. They were a special-order item outside Japan, I have a couple and they do allow easier critical focus.

I believe mine does too. Is it a circle with a smaller circle divided in two? The other Kx I have is just a circle within a circle with smaller spots.

#1 is the split image focusing screen. #2 is the matte screen with center spot prisms. I have two of each.
