[SOLD] Vivitar 285HV Flash

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Vivitar 285HV Flash

Asking Price
70

Item Description
First off, this is the older, Made in Japan version, which means that it is very well built (much better than the new ones) but cannot be used on dSLRs due to its high voltage. That said, this makes a great off-camera studio flash. By finding a $10 or less "peanut" optical slave device, you can use this flash as a wireless slave. Here is a review of the flash (the newer version, but holds true for this version as well):

Still available.... I tested the flash with my voltmeter and it was under 7 volts when triggered. This is consistent with what other people have reported.

You're in the wrong my friend, the HV version can be safely used with any dSLR... I've just snapped my second one on the evil-bay... Awesome flash if one doesn't mind using fully manual controls... for the price paid, it's a killer power-wize... and damn hard to beat when used off-camera...

Good luck with the sale, i'd take it, but i've already got 1 and another one on it's way...
